Pärnu Centre

Pärnu Centre, which opened its doors in March 2009, is the newest shopping centre in Pärnu. Centre is located in the heart of Pärnu, the area between the bus station and the Concert Hall.

Biggest stores are New Yorker, Rahva Raamat, Monton, La Senza, Norman-Optika, XS Mänguasjad/Chicco, I.L.U., Novalux.

The project was carried out by OÜ Aida Partnerid, its architects are Vilen Künnapu and Ain Padrik, construction by Eston Ehitus, interior design by KVB Design from Great Britain.

Speaking from the architectural viewpoint, Pärnu Centre is decorous and postmodern, partially integrating old storehouse walls and adding a historical dimension to the building. The overall impression, created by the the functional and people-oriented layout for shops and cafés surrounding the walking area, is spacious, comfortable and pleasantly personal. On the roof of the Centre there is a large town clock visible from the Old Town as well as on the Pärnu River.

Thanks to the opening of Pärnu Centre, the downtown area has extended towards the Pärnu Concert Hall and the river side, where the town’s business centre used be in the 19th century as well. At that time, the block was called 1st district and it was full of storehouses that belonged to then big businesses in Pärnu, former Pärnu City Hall, Great Guild Hall, first St. John’s Church built by Estonians themselves, movie theater Pallas, Pärnu Boat Club and many other agencies.
